anne rice was born in louisiana to aristocracy. she was made one of the damned as a young woman in 1791, and she has adapted to her lifestyle as a vampire quite elegantly.she likes music and art, herself a talented singer (trained classically and as a jazz singer), and she enjoys fine things.anne is quite the charming lady. a rampant hedonist, she enjoys sex and sensuality almost to a fault. when you have anne's attention, it feels as if you are the only person to have ever had her attention. despite anne's delicate appearance and mannerisms, she is quite the ferocious vampire; when she is hungry, it is all she can focus on, and she has sired more than a handful of vampires.

technically, queen of the damned is not an ability; it is only a name given to her vampiric attributes, which include super-strength, inhuman speed, and everything else listed below.anne has luminescent eyes, and they glow softly in the dark. she has very smooth, very pale skin, and long white-blond hair. she is...incredibly beautiful.she can eat garlic (and in fact rather enjoys it!), and she can enter holy spaces and view crucifixes without any detriment to her. wooden stakes through the heart will not kill her, either. exposure to the sun, however, is incredibly painful and eventually lethal.the arrival of dawn makes anne very sleepy. if anne is not at home when the sun begins to rise, she must find shelter immediately.in terms of feeding, anne must drink the blood of the living; drinking the blood of the deceased means death for her as well, and thus she must take care not to fatally exsanguinate her prey. during feeding, anne and her prey share a heartbeat, effectively becoming one being. the exchange is deeply pleasurable for all involved parties.other attributes of the damned include: an uncanny knack for mimicry (voice, movement, mannerisms), intrinsic artistic talent, and heightened physical and emotional feeling (sometimes to excess).

queen of the damned is a fancy name for anne's vampirism, but she is still an ability-user.
anne's real ability, interview with the vampire allows her to see other people’s lives (or pieces of their lives) flash before her eyes. she does not pick what she sees, but her ability tends to show her more significant moments as opposed to everyday occurrences (i.e. someone’s final moments, weddings, milestones, etc.). she doesn’t use this ability often because, frankly, she doesn’t often care, but it’s useful in certain situations!

john william polidori.
polidori is the closest thing anne has to a vampiric mentor. after she was first made, she fell deeply ill after drinking dead blood; polidori, being both a doctor and a vampire himself, nursed her back to health and told her to never do that again. they are still friends, although anne thinks she doesn't need a mentor anymore.

akutagawa ryuunosuke.
anne made akutagawa into a vampire, making their relationship one of sire and progeny. however, anne feels remorse for making him, and their relationship is mostly one-sided. she feels something akin to maternal towards him.

amelia alderson.
to say that amelia is a feral chaos goblin is, by most if not all accounts, a fair assessment. as such, anne sees a kindred spirit in her. it's a good thing they're dating–to them, at least! the prospect might be terrifying to the outside world.

fyodor dostoyevsky.
he shot her, and boy is she pissed about it. she is afraid of fyodor dostoyevsky, whom she mostly refers to as 'the russian'.

dazai osamu.
she finds dazai absurdly handsome. he's also the reason fyodor shot anne–well, part of it. she refuses to kill him, despite his begging.

bram stoker.
perhaps the best descriptor for their relationship would be "playfully antagonistic", although sometimes the line between teasing and genuine antagonism gets crossed. despite their differences, anne likes bram's company, and she takes great joy in flirting with, making fun of, and teasing him. what else are friends for.

lemony snicket.
anne finds lemony snicket to be quite the fun and mysterious companion! she knows he isn't human, but won't ask what he is for want of maintaining the mystery. anne also thinks lemony is very handsome!

dylan thomas.
anne and dylan are friends! she thinks he's adorable.
